To “Endorse” your USRN License means to “Transfer” your license from one state to another.
Because each state is governed by an independent board of Nursing, you may require permission to work in a state, by applying for a USRN License.
GENERAL PRE-REQUISITES
To endorse your license to another US state, you must;
- Have passed the NCLEX-RN exam
- Hold valid USRN License in another US State
You CANNOT endorse an expired license. If your license is expired, you would be required to renew or reinstate – before endorsing to another state.
- Have an SSN – if the board requires it.
Not all Boards require SSN.
Check for specific requirements on the Board of Nursing website.
